Cincinnati Opera’s 2019 season features the world premiere of Blind Injustice, which tells the stories of six Ohio citizens who were imprisoned for crimes they did not commit and eventually freed through the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP). Our panel will explore the topic of wrongful conviction with members of the Blind Injustice creative team, an exoneree whose story will be featured in the new work, and OIP Director Mark Godsey, whose book by the same name inspired the piece. A musical will be performed by Michelle LaJeunesse, who will sing the role of Nancy Smith in Blind Injustice.
